100 Worst Nes Games
When we reach the current donation goal all software on Retro Uprising will be replaced with a new superior method for playing games online that will support all browsers, play many more games and consoles and fix errors in existing games. This will be a massive site upgrade. The largest in our history. Of all the games that inexplicably received the Nintendo Seal of Approval, these 20 stood out as the biggest mistakes.
I don't know if the game making people were the nephews of the eccentric billionaire in charge of handing out the gold approval seals, or if Nintendo just didn't bother to check if the games sucked. All I know is that these 20 games are about as fun as swallowing bug-flavored glass. For each one, I'll give a brief description of exactly why it's bad then rate the Graphics and Fun on their own personal scale of one to 10. But you'll notice really fast that they all score horribly low, and these ratings are just excuses for me to make fun of more specific areas of the game.
I think it beats Kung Fu to be honest.Really? That's interesting.
I have a hard time playing Legend of Kage mainly because I find the graphics to be really really ugly and repetitive. I haven't played it all the way through, so maybe the game gets better.I like Kung-Fu, but some of it may be nostalgia since it's one of the first NES games I ever played. I do think the NES version smokes the original arcade one.In the poll, I voted for Bad Street Brawler as the worst game since it's general Pepto Bismol look makes me want to vomit.

I have been thinking more about the Metroid thing the last few days, and trying to compare it in my head to the first Zelda, which I did get to play as a kid, when it was fairly new, when I had ample time to explore the game entirely.I wonder if I had never played it and played it and played it back then and tried to pick it up last year in my mid twenties, engaged to be married with a full time job and playing poker on the side, if I would have got past level 4 or 5 and been able to find all the hidden levels. Granted, using a guide should have gotten me there pretty easily, but I may have not had enough hearts to beat the game, but it still may have been a frustrating experience.

But since I have beaten the game 10x in my life, it still seems fun and not too difficult to me.Is it possible I could feel the same way about Metroid if I had played it 20 years ago when I was young and had the time and energy to explore every area and make a map to guide me through (I used the map for Zelda that came in the box FYI and even drew on the boxes that were whited out).I think this is definitely the case. I played Metroid a lot as a kid, but don't think I ever beat it. When the Gameboy SP hit its price drop, I picked it up and the first thing I bought were the re-releases of Zelda and Metroid, and I played the Metroid one constantly.
I would replay it a ton, do challenges, speedruns, etc. Really tempted to pull out the ole emu to play a few of these. River City Ransom was such an awesome game, and seems to have held up to the test of time reasonably well. After seeing Dragon Warrior rank higher then Final Fantasy i'm also tempted to give it a go for old-school JRPG's sake as I have never played it.DW1 is definitely one of my all time favorite RPGs, I only suggest making sure you use an Emulator with a fast-forward feature as there is a lot of grinding in that. I love replaying the old RPGs with FF to cut down on the grinding.
